OK! So, I have lottery fever, just like millions of other Americans across the US. I tried last Tuesday to win the MegaMillions $363 million lottery. I didn't even get 1 number! Friday the jackpot will be over $500 million, or half a billion $. Chances are the jackpot will be shared by more than one ticket owner, but this is what I would do with my money!
1. Buy a nice motorhome for me and maybe a couple for a few friends too!
2. Pay off bills including mortgages
3. Buy Real Estate
4. Help a local church that feed the homeless twice a week
5. Buy Real Estate
6. Help some of my local grade schools with books or other necessary items
7. Buy Real Estate
8. Help my local hospice
9. Buy Real Estate
10. Help my local Women's Shelter and the local Gospel Mission
11. Buy Real Estate
12. Take a cruise with a few friends, maybe 10 or 20
13. Buy Real Estate
14. Help the local animal shelter/cat shelter
15. Winning the lottery is a great REVENGE TOOL!

Doomsday Preppers
I was flipping channels one night and found National Geographic's program "Doomsday Preppers" It is a 1 hour program that shows 3 different Americans and/or Canadians that are preparing for a disastrous event. I'm fascinated by two things: one is the amount of people that believe a disastrous event will happen and secondly, the amount of food, water, and ammunition the preppers are hoarding.
What do you think about this situation? How would you prepare in a RV? Does living in a RV hinder your ability to be prepared for a disastrous event? Do you keep extra medical or emergency items in your rig?
As a young child I remember my grandmother sending me into the garage to get some tuna fish. She had a large storage area of food. I have always had lots of food on hand because of this. I also have stockpiled other items in the past as I have been a big coupon shopper.
Those RVers that boondock are well on their way to being self sufficient, but where will you get your food and water from?

What in the World is Geocaching?
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it .........
Recently while looking at other blogs I found an RV blogger talking about Geocaching. I have heard the term but didn't know what it meant. So, being the computer whiz that I am (lol) I googled Geocaching. I found geocaching.com It has great information and a forum for questions.
Geocaching is a
high tech Easter egg hunt. Someone hides a container of
inexpensive knickknacks -- a cache. Then they post its latitude & longitude
on the Internet, and other people go hunting for it with a handheld GPS. If they find it
they trade knickknacks and sign a log to record their
visit. Cache containers can range from a 35mm film can to an ammunition container. They must be sealed to protect the contents from the elements.
Sometimes the geocaches can be found very easily, sometimes they are farther into a forest or the woods and harder to find.
This seems like a very interesting hobby/sport/game to me. I think it would be a very fun activity for an RVer to do. I'm going to check into it further. I will let you all know what I find out! ;)

Welcome Spring!
Happy Spring!
Yes, it snowed in Klamath Falls last night!
I went outside to put the trash out tonight and it has mostly melted.
Welcome to my 2 new followers who ever you may be! LOL I don't know how to tell who is new.
Thank you to those that continue to post on my recent loss of my 4 legged baby. I brought home the ashes today. The box is beautiful.

Wow I hit the 20 followers mark today, I just want to say thanks for stopping by to read my blog. I don't have an RV yet, but I'm actively looking for one. I have been doing a lot of reading in books and online about the RV lifestyle. I appreciate any input or ideas you may have.
On a sad note, my Vet called today and Bear's ashes are in. I think it will be a few days before I can bring myself to go pick them up.
It's still very cold here in Klamath Falls. I think it snowed last night, but there isn't any on the ground.

Work Camper Position Avail at Crater Lake
I found this listed on the Oregon Employment Development site. They are looking for a full-time gift shop clerk for the summer. Pay is minimum wage in Oregon of $8.80hr. This is what they say:
* Work at one of America's National Park that inspired people for hundreds of years. We operate an historic lodge, cabins, a campground, camper store, two restaurants, two retail shops, café, and boat tours. A pre employment drug screen may be required as a condition of employment and random drug testing is enforced.
In park shared dorm-style $7.50 per day, per person through payroll deduction. RV sites are also available (this is your own vehicle) with full hook ups for $35.00 per week per RV. Employee's meals are provided in the employee dining room and are paid through payroll deduction. EOE/AA
Crater Lake is just over 1 hour north of Klamath Falls, Oregon.

My Weekend trip to Caracas Venezuela
These are flowers that my friend Humberto had for me waiting in the house when we got there.
He is a good cook and made me pork chops with a very sweet sauce, rice with a little pasta, and broccoli with a nice cheese sauce.
The second night he made a traditional Venezuelan soup. It had meat and lots of different vegetables, including potato, carrots, onions, yucca, and other things I can't pronounce.
Here is a pic of us at the airport when I had to leave. My eyes are very dark from crying about my dog Bear.

Thank you friends.....
This is a beautiful card I received from my friend David.
These are some flowers my friend Ann gave me.
Thanks to all my friends here at home and those of you online that I haven't meet yet for the kind words and compassion for the loss of my 4 legged baby Bear.

Thank you
Thank you all for the kind words about my Rottie. She couldn't wait till Friday.
I had to put her to sleep today. She was in too much pain. I know she is in a
better place now.

Bad News
I received some bad news as soon as I got to Caracas. My Rottie has bone cancer. I have to put her to sleep. I came home immediately from my trip to spend a couple days with her. She doesn't want to do much as the cancer is in her left leg. She limps a lot. My vet is out of the office until Friday. I'm hoping Bear will be ok till then. I'm giving her pain medication 3 times a day. She isn't whining, so the pain meds are working. It is amazing how quickly a large dog can go downhill with a disease.
Since I didn't take any new pics in Caracas, I will post some later of my last trip.

Not an RV Vacation!
I'm going to visit a far away location.
The buildings are tall.
The city is crowded.
The Churches are beautiful.
There is a tram up a mountain.
Ahhhh breakfast.
Where am I going?
I'm leaving on Friday for a 2 week vacation to see a friend. I went last year and these are pics I took then. Let me know if you figure out where I'm going.

Klamath Falls, OR KOA
March 5, 2012
I stopped by my local KOA campground to take some pics and find out some info. They have monthly rates available for $410 including everything except electric which requires a $75 deposit. As you can see it was a gray day here in Klamath Falls. There weren't a lot of campers in the park. I think they had about 3 RV's in the area which was for the monthly rentals. There are not a lot of trees in this park. The park is located at 3435 Shasta Way, KF, OR 541-884-4644.
This is the dump station, right next to the playground! LOL
Just to the left of the playground is a pet walking area.
In front of the pet walking area are 2 camping cabins.
Then next to this area is the camping sites.
In the back of the campground is a small pet pen.
I checked Gas and Diesel prices as I left.
Gas $3.93.9
Diesel $4.39.9
Propane $2.41This campground is in a good location in Klamath Falls, but I would only use it a stopover if you are going to Crater Lake NP which is only 1 hour away. I suggest you go to Crater Lake in June, July, or August. That way you can drive around the whole rim and see all the lake.
Did You Know?
Crater Lake was formed when a massive eruption of Mount Mazama 7700 years ago caused the mountain to collapse, leaving a steaming caldera. Centuries of rain and snow filled the caldera creating Crater Lake.

8 followers...???
Hello to Journey with Julie's 8!
LOL I have 8 followers and I just started this blog a few days ago. You guys are all so nice to follow this crazy middle aged widowed woman with 2 dogs! I don't even have an RV yet! I only have the desire to live a more simplified life! I love reading your blogs, especially a couple of the ladies that are traveling alone in an RV with their dogs. I'm so envious of you all. I'm living vicariously thru all your posts and pics. I hope one day to be on the open road and meet you all. Thanks for following, posting, and offering advice! J.

Friday March 2, 2012 Rv looking!
I went RV "looking" today! I say looking because I'm not really ready to buy. I'm still trying to figure out what type of RV I want. Not sure how long I want it to be. I looked at a 33' Bounder, a 28' Four Winds, and a 25' something! LOL I liked the 28' Four Winds the best. The problem it had was the shower was 2 feet off the ground. ug. I'm not really in a hurry to find "the one" so I will just keep looking. I had to take my Rottie to the Vet today so she could have some stitches out. She had a lump recently that was removed. She is doing well and is actually getting better traveling in my truck. She hasn't traveled in a vehicle much, only to the Vet and back. Buddy the Chihuahua goes everywhere in the truck. He will be great in an RV. It's the Rottie I'm worried about. Have a great night! I'm watching Shark Tank! One of my favorite programs because it gives normal people a chance to change their lives.

Buddy is going to be 17 years old in April. He will be a good traveling companion if he can live long enough for me to get my RV and we get on the road.
I have another dog she is a 10 year old Rottweiler. I will get a pic of her up soon. I don't think she will be a good RV dog, which is part of the reason I haven't got my RV yet! She has calmed down lately though so I'm really thinking my RV adventures might start sooner than I thought!
